UN-Habitat announced on Thursday that it is seeking city partners to pilot a new integrated urban planning and management model to help cities build reslience against disasters such as the recent superstorm Sandy which crashed through coastlines from the Caribbean and north America's Atlantic seaboard, or tsunamis and earthquakes.
UN-Habitat joined hands with Plan International and Women in Cities International at the World Urban Forum this month to launch a new programme at making cities safer for girls.
UN-Habitat is seeking proposals for candidates to serve on its Advisory Group on Gender Issues established to advise the Executive Director on all matters related to gender mainstreaming in the agency's work. The Group will also provide strategic guidance and policy advice.
