As part of its awareness-raising campaign on the importance of a safe water supply, the Sustainable Employment Creation and Improved Livelihoods for Vulnerable Communities in Mogadishu (SECIL) project is bringing UNEP’s 22nd International Children’s Painting Competition on the Environment to Mogadishu. In December and January, SECIL will conduct art classes in Mogadishu’s schools, in which the importance of clean water will be discussed and then captured in paintings. After UNEP’s decision on the international and regional winners in early 2013, a selection of entered paintings from Mogadishu’s children and youth will be showcased in their hometown. |
