UN-HABITAT is organizing a national workshop on Human Values-based Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Education (HVWSHE) in Kathmandu, Nepal from 26-28 December 2006. The main objective of this workshop is to sensitize different stakeholders especially from the education sector on HVWSHE. The workshop shall also develop a project for piloting HVWSHE in Nepal. The specific objectives of the workshop include (a) Share experiences on HVWSHE from other countries in the region; (b) provide concept and knowledge of HVWSHE to different stakeholders especially those involved in the education sector; (c) establish a Steering Committee for promotion of HVWSHE at the national level; (d) develop a project proposal for piloting HVWSHE in Nepal; and (e) develop a strategy document for capacity building on HVWSHE at institutional and individual level and to institutionalize HVWSHE system. The workshop will bring together senior officials from the Ministry of Education, Govt. of Nepal, UNESCO, Water Utilities, Representatives of School Associations and Teachers, other UN Agencies, related NGOs both national and international. |
