The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Royal Highness Khalifah ibn Sulman al-Khalifah on Wednesday received UN-HABITAT's Executive Director Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka, paving the way for Bahrain to host the sixth session of the World Urban Forum in 1012.
Almost exactly a year ago, Mrs. Tibaijuka visited Bahrain for the launch of the Arabic version of the agency’s flagship report, The State of the World’s Cities, which was funded by Bahrain. She said that the Arabic version of the report would assist greatly in making the report accessible to people in the region.
At the time, the Kingdom of Bahrain and UN-HABITAT have announced the establishment of the Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa Habitat Award.
