At the meeting, the Alliance Secretariat launched the "GWOPA Annual Report August 2009-2010" and presented its activities from August 2009 to representatives from 21 organisations.
The Annual Report introduces the progress of activities according to six areas; Support to Regional Water Operators Partnerships, Knowledge Management, Benchmarking – known as GRUBS – Capacity Building and Training, Financial Guidance and Linking, and Advocacy, Communications and Alliance Building.
New strategic partnerships were introduced to the participants as one of ways to demonstrate progress.
Among the topics discussed in the meeting, the establishment of the Integrity Sub-Committee of the Alliance Steering Committee was key. The Sub-Committee is given the task to "respond to any complaints regarding non-compliance with the Non-for-profit guiding principle." The members of the Sub-Committee were nominated and will work for drafting its TOR for the discussion at the GWOPA General Assembly on 19-20 January 2011.
The meeting also marked the official launching of the GWOPA Website which features the Geo-Referenced Utility Benchmarking System (GRUBS) and the platform for matchmaking services and staff
