General Objective for the Urban Safety Agenda

Consolidate at the global level existing knowledge and awareness on urban safety and prevention, as being part of urban sustainable development, through a normative approach and through the development of innovative tools and instruments from a social cohesion perspective, in order to improve quality of live in human settlements

Specific objectives

• Make safer cities know-how and experience accessible to the whole international community and build capacities in local and national governments to address urban safety challenges,
• Build urban safety through the Reduction of Urban vulnerabilities,
• Build urban safety through Urban Planning and Management,
• Develop the Governance of Urban Safety,
• Develop Regional Strategies and Frameworks for action on Urban Safety and Social Cohesion.
