The Opening Ceremony will also include a special video created by YouMedia, celebrating the voices of Chicago youth, Building and Housing Social Foundation (BHSF) World Habitat Award Presentations and 2009 Habitat Scroll of Honor Presentations. |

Hosted by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Howard University, this event will showcase a variety of perspectives in addressing the 2009 World Habitat Day theme "Planning Our Urban Future." The program begins with principal presentations on "Planning Our Urban Future," eventually giving way to a structured response session which will allow invited guests to share domestic and international innovations that promote public engagement in planning livable communities. |
