A specific platform to bring together partners from the business and industries to show-case and debate on best practices and innovation for better cities.
The Business Assembly is the main platform tailored to the private sector to present best practices and innovation for sustainable cities. It offers open facilitated debates and presentations on outstanding practices from the private sector.
Business leaders and key players of the industry will debate on the drivers of prosperity in cities: business models, best policies and governance models that can support a successful private sector intervention that make cities thrive. In particular, they will bring to the table successful models that increase city attractiveness while promoting pro-poor growth. They will also look at successful practices that promote environmental sustainability while responding to the need for expanding urban infrastructures.
The Business Forum will address the infrastructure life-cycle through three entry points:
Focus 1 – Designing and Planning
What are the successful approaches to design and plan for urban infrastructure?
- Infrastructure planning
- Environmental diagnostics and resource efficiency assessment
- Sustainable mobility and logistics plans
- Local adaptation
Focus 2 – Building Infrastructure
What are the best practices in urban infrastructure development?
- Water
- Energy
- Waste treatments
- Mobility networks
- ICT networks
Focus 3 – Financing and Governance
What are the successful approaches to financing urban infrastructure?

City leaders and decision makers will be invited to debate on how local authorities and business can build successful partnerships for change.
