Over 500 attend youth assembly
	Nairobi, 24 Mar 10 UN-HABITAT Executive Director, Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka, and Brazil’s Permanent Representative, Mrs. Ana Maria Sampaio, signed a Conference Agreement to facilitate the organization of the Fifth Session of the World Urban Forum to be held in Rio de Janeiro from 22-26 March 2010.

World Urban Campaign launched
	Rio de Janeiro, 24 Mar 10 UN-HABITAT Executive Director, Anna Tibaijuka, launched the World Urban Campaign yesterday, by signing Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with leading international companies including Siemens, Veolia and ARCADIS.

	Rio de Janeiro, 23 Mar 10 UN-HABITAT and Coca Cola on Tuesday took their collaboration a notch higher when they signed an agreement to improve community access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation in selected countries in Asia, Africa and South America.


Urban Poverty alleviation receives top priority in Rio
	Rio de Janeiro, 23 Mar 10 The Slum Upgrading and Prevention networking event, held at the 5th session of the World Urban Forum in Rio de Janeiro, brought together more than 90 country representatives to discuss the results, challenges and successes posed by slum upgrading and prevention. The event was attended by representatives from the three programme regions, Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP), and the tripartite partnership consisting of the European Commission, the ACP Group of States and UN-HABITAT.

Fifth Session of World Urban Forum opens in Rio
	Rio de Janeiro, 22 Mar 10 President Lula of Brazil kicked of the fifth session of the world urban forum in the presence of high level dignitaries which included President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda and United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Department Mr. Shaun Donovan among others.

Abu Dhabi contributes money to the Global Water Alliance
