Promoting water as a human right – a new international convention in the making
	Barcelona, 1 Jun 04 The former Soviet leader, Mr. Mikhail Gorbachev, who is President of the Green Cross, agreed in bilateral talks with UN-HABITAT Executive Director, Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka, to work jointly to promote an new international convention on water as a basic human right.

Values-Based Water Education gains Momentum in West and Central Africa
	Dakar, 25 May 04 A Training of Trainers workshop in Values-based Water Education was held in Dakar, Senegal from 12-14 May 2004 to show education experts from Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mali, Niger and Senegal the most appropriate approaches to introducing water, sanitation and hygiene into the existing school curriculum.

King Juan Carlos inaugurates Universal Forum of Cultures
