UN-HABITAT teams up with paint firm to train youth

Some 14 young people from the informal settlements of Kibera, Githogoro in Nairobi and Athi River in Mavoko, Kenya have benefitted from a painting skills training in economic water and oil paints.
Applications pour in for UN-HABITAT Urban Youth Fund

The UN-HABITAT Urban Youth Fund is growing increasingly popular with youth groups across the developing world judging by a 40 percent rise in applications over last year. Among regions showing the largest increase in applications are Latin America, the Middle East and Central Asia.
UN-HABITAT signs agreement with Nigeria

UN-HABITAT and the government of Nigeria on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding which will see the agency and the West African nation engage in collaborative activities targeting young people.
Over 500 attend youth assembly

UN-HABITAT Executive Director, Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka, and Brazil’s Permanent Representative, Mrs. Ana Maria Sampaio, signed a Conference Agreement to facilitate the organization of the Fifth Session of the World Urban Forum to be held in Rio de Janeiro from 22-26 March 2010.

Youth-led organizations in developing countries working to improve the lives of young people and their communities can now seek financing for their projects through the UN-HABITAT Urban Youth Fund. The Fund will provide grants for innovative projects that promote employment, good governance, shelter and secure tenure.
