UN-HABITAT has been providing technical support
to Egypt’s General Organization for Physical Planning
(GOPP) in implementing its 50 (fifty) small cities
planning project. The challenge in the 50 cities
include weak capacity and resources, coupled with
no experience in strategic planning and participatory
process. This project has had some remarkable aspects
with a shift in approach and process for capacity
building.
